Athena - Cleanse, 3.8L
> Please note the safety instructions at the bottom of the page (click here)!
Athena Cleanse is made from the ideal (and safe) active ingredients to optimise the root zone - Hypochlorous Acid. This safe and mild acid is derived from salt and a proprietary electrochemical treatment process. The result is a unique, plant-safe chemical with strong oxidative properties to keep your root zone clean and free of unwanted organisms and debris. These special properties improve both mineral and oxygen availability in growing media.
Key Features
Non-toxic - Safe for growing plants
Neutral pH - Does not affect the stability of the solution
Increases the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP)
Crushes scale - Keeps irrigation systems in pristine condition
Reduces biofilm - Keep lines free of hazardous organic material
Very low TDS - Does not upset the mineral balance
Promotes robust root growth
Effective as a final rinse to clean growing media
Keeps the irrigation system clean and running efficiently for longer
Reduces mineral deposits in media and pipes
Increases oxygen and nutrient availability in growing media
How to use Cleanse:
System maintenance:
Irrigation systems that are regularly maintained with the Athena Cleanse treatment will last longer and consistently run more optimally. This is because Cleanse helps to break down lime scale, mineral deposits and other organic matter that has built up in the system.
Regular use: For regular maintenance, use a diluted mixture of 2-5 ml of water per gallon.
Heavy conditions:
Increase rate to 5-10 ml per gallon of water to combat heavy reservoir and growing media conditions.
Cuttings/Clones:
Athena Cleanse is a must for all cloning machines and fresh cuttings. Dip fresh cuttings in a solution of Cleanse (10 ml per gallon) to improve cell health and increase immunity. Seedlings and cuttings treated with Cleanse have more vigour and are more likely to grow into robust plants. The roots of plants treated with Cleanse are bright white and bursting with tiny root hairs.
RDWC and other recirculating hydroponic systems:
Any recirculating or deep water culture (DWC) irrigation system should use Athena Cleanse to increase oxygen and nutrient availability. Irrigation water treated with Cleanse has a lower risk of developing problems often associated with overwatering and insufficient oxygen levels, such as anaerobic microbial growth and biofilm formation.
Using Cleanse in a recirculating or DWC system helps break down materials with lower solubility values, such as mineral complexes, which are no longer available to plants. Accumulation and lockout of minerals are a major cause of deficiencies and plant health problems - solve these problems with Athena Cleanse.
Media/system flushing:
Mix Athena Cleanse at a rate of 5-10 ml/gallon of water during the final flush phase to reduce the build-up of residual minerals in growing media and plant tissues. Reducing excess minerals in the final stage of life encourages the plant to produce more oils, aromas and flavours associated with a high quality end product.
This process can be applied at any time during the vegetative or flowering stage if the growing medium or irrigation system develops a mineral imbalance or unwanted build-up.
Foliar applications:
Mix 375 ml of Cleanse per gallon of water and spray evenly. Test on a small area first to ensure no damage occurs.
Surface treatment/cleaning:
Spraying growing areas, work areas and irrigation equipment with a diluted solution of Athena Cleanse (375 ml per gallon) will help maintain a clean and trouble-free environment free of toxic and hazardous chemicals. Maintain excellent operation and extend the life of equipment.
